Our mission
We want Sudanese families and community groups across the West Midlands and the Black Country to know each other and work together.
We help people with everyday problems, and with getting the services they need.
Who we are
Sudanese Support Group CIC helps Sudanese families across the West Midlands and the Black Country.
How we started
We are a community interest company based in Sparkhill, Birmingham. A group of Sudanese women started it in 2026. Today it is run by three directors: Salma Hassan, Bakheita Nour and Amira Duad.
Before starting, they spent time finding out what Sudanese families in the region need. They estimate that about 5,000 Sudanese families live in the West Midlands. This is our own estimate, not an official figure.
Many of these families feel cut off. They don't know where to go for information or help. We started SSG to change that.
What we want to do
We want Sudanese families and community groups across the West Midlands and the Black Country to know each other and work together.
We help people with everyday problems, and with getting the services they need.
A Sudanese community here where families know where to turn and nobody is left on their own.
We also want to stay connected to people in Sudan, and help them when we can.
