What information we collect

We only collect the information you choose to send us through our forms:

• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message.
• Volunteer form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the languages you speak (optional) and how you would like to help (optional).

We do not record your IP address or details about your browser or device when you send a form.

Please do not include sensitive personal details in our forms, for example your immigration status or health information. If you do share sensitive details with us, we will treat them with care and keep them confidential.

Why we use your information

We use your information only to reply to your message, or to contact you about volunteering. We use it because you give us your consent when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for 12 months, then delete them. This applies to the copy saved on our website and to the copy sent to our email inbox.

Who can see your information

Only the Sudanese Support Group team can see your information. Our website and our email are hosted by Hostinger, which stores the information for us. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing.

Where your information is stored

Our website is hosted by Hostinger, on servers in the United States. This means information you send us through our website, such as messages and volunteer forms, is stored outside the UK. Hostinger protects this information under its data processing agreement, which includes safeguards for transferring personal data outside the UK.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our fonts are stored on our own website, and we do not embed maps or other content from other companies.

Links to other services

Some buttons on our website take you to other services, such as WhatsApp and Google Maps. When you use those services, their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct information that is wrong
• ask us to delete your information
• ask us to limit how we use your information, or object to how we use it
